You aren't very clear on the concept, Tim- I am not seeking to engage in
'legal harrassment', I'm seeking relief from *YOUR* harrassment, and I'm
being forced to do with via the legal system, because you're leaving me
no other avenue. I didn't put up a page about you, I didn't start this-
you did, with your page.

I'm telling you this now for your own good- that would be a *major*
mistake. If we can't come to some arrangement, I'll soon be forced to
throw good money at a lawyer, something I hate to do. I've already
found that my best bet for getting your page about me removed is to
proceed in criminal court, not civil. This means that any actions you
take from the time I first contacted you that make the problem worse
will make my case stronger, and yours much weaker. Another page
harrassing me will be to my benefit, in a big way. Use your head, Tim.

I want to tell you another reason to not make me take this to court- of
all the people on your page, I have the best chance to make this happen
in court, since I'm the only one who never fought you publically about
it, never hassled you repeatedly in the Usenet newsgroups. My condition
is that of a person who you are harrassing, who's never asked for
anything other than relief from that harrassment- I ask only to be left
the hell alone, and I've never modified that position. Your biggest
concern should be what will happen once I've set a precident, and gotten
the courts to force you to take any page mentioning me down- the
floodgates will be open, and you'll be hounded unmercifully by those who
never would have had a chance in hell before.

I'm not asking you to erase your records- I'm asking you to keep my name
off the public Internet pages you've got. There's a big difference
between 'records' and 'published on the Web'.

Those are threats- threats that anyone who asks nicely that you leave
them alone is to be harrassed even more- that anyone and everyone is
subject to hassling in public by Tim at his whim, and if y'all whine,
then you get kicked a few more times. Let me say this again - I don't
want to take this to court. I will work with you to avoid that. If I
do take you to court, it will result in you leaving the courtroom with a
stain on your *criminal* record- *please* don't make me do that- I don't
want to do it.

You're losing sight of the big picture- that I'm not asking for you to
change the truth- you can tell anyone that I was in your killfile, just
get rid of the pages that contain derogatory information about me.
Leave my name on the page at
'http://www.math.uiuc.edu/~tskirvin/home/daemons/', I don't care- that
one doesn't come up on a search engine anyhow. Change the link to refer
to the same document, so it looks like it's a screwed up link- I don't
care. Just kill the pages at:

http://www.math.uiuc.edu/~tskirvin/home/daemons/todd.html
http://www.math.uiuc.edu/~tskirvin/home/daemons/todd2.html
http://www.math.uiuc.edu/~tskirvin/home/daemons/why/todd/todd.daemons
http://www.math.uiuc.edu/~tskirvin/home/daemons/why/todd/todd.daemons.2
http://www.math.uiuc.edu/~tskirvin/home/daemons/why/todd/todd.plonk
http://www.math.uiuc.edu/~tskirvin/home/daemons/why/todd/todd.plonk.2

I'm still trying to get ahold of Gunsalus, but I would like to ask you
to *please* don't put up anything more about me- it *WILL* harm you in a
lasting way at this point. That's not a threat, it's the honest truth.
Save yourself a lot of trouble and work with me on this. If you've got
a comprimise solution other than the one I've outlined above, let me
hear it. Save me a lawyer bill, and yourself a criminal record for
harrassment.
