Skirv's History Page - Rules

Writing and maintaining these history pages is far from a trivial task. I'm nowhere near done with it, and arguably never will be; still, I feel obligated to continue to work. Why? I'm not sure; it's probably a combination of vanity and old-fashioned stubbornness. But I'd *like* to finish some day, and I'd *like* for the information on here to be both entertaining and informative to those beyond me.

However, I also recognize a central danger with these pages: they are regularly indexed. My lanyard page is hit very regularly (dozens of hits her day; for a personal page, that's a lot); my Uni High page is, surprisingly, in the top ten Google hits when searching for my high school. Worse, pages about my ex-girlfriend have led to fights and recrimination by many parties, and are counted as "unfair attacks" and "inappropriate". Yet, all of this stuff is vital to my being, and probably quite useful in understanding me. And I *want* these pages to be indexed, to be honest. I like the idea that the search engines know so much about me.

So, there's only one answer: rules.

These rules are the guidelines by which I write my history pages. They are important, at least to me. As a side bonus, they offer a foundation upon which to continue to build. And, while they may be amended, I suspect that they will very rarely be cut down.

The Rules

• This page is more intended to be my personal history, and therefore about *me*.
• While, by necessity, certain sections of this page will be extremely personal, I must endeavour to not make the page about them - only about their history and experiences with me.
  • Where possible, I will leave off last names, so as to avoid much of the indexing done by Google and other major search engines. In certain cases
• This page is not, primarily, a soapbox. If a soapbox was part of my history, it will be mentioned, but I don't want to debate by writing things here.
