In October 2007, the UIUC Horticulture Club organized a trip to the Great Pumpkin Patch in Arthur, IL. The place is a tourist trap next to a huge pumpkin farm, where they grow 400(!) different varieties of pumpkin, squash, and gourd. Dad brought me along this year; and while I was a bit dubious at first, I have to admit that it was pretty spectacular.
