VeriMod
A robot moderation package for Unix
|
VeriMod is set of moderation programs, written in perl, based around a
common module and sharing common datafile formats. It supports
many standard message fixes, message scoring, and...well, I refuse to write
a features page until it's done.
This is, obviously, a work in progress.
faqpost
faqpost is an proof-of-concept script that might actually be useful. It's
a simple FAQ poster that signs messages with PGPMoose and maintains Expires
and Supersedes headers; it's based around News::Article, but has some of
News::Verimod's stuff tossed in for good measure.

Battloid
Battloid is a robot moderator designed to take care of virtually all of the
work of moderating a newsgroup. All messages are either approved, rejected,
or forwarded to the moderators based on the message alone; administration
must take place at the moderation site. As yet, it's still unavailable,
though it is being tested on humanities.philosophy.objectivism and
news.admin.net-abuse.policy.
Guardian
Guardian is a robot moderator that is a split between the Fighter and
Battloid ModBots. Guardian pre-screens all incoming messages; these
messages are then either approved, rejected, or mailed to the moderators
for review. The moderators can choose to either submit a fixed version of
the post through normal channels, or can send authenticated commands to the
'bot directly.
Fighter
Fighter is a robot moderator designed to pre-process messages for review
by a moderator or moderation team. All posts received to the moderation
address are sent to the moderators for review; the moderators can then
send majordomo-like commands to the ModBot to actually process the
message. It is designed to minimize network traffic and generally be
secure (well, as secure as Usenet's going to get, anyway).
Officer's Battlepod
Officer is a client script for the various types of VeriMods.
Destroid
Destroid is a web-based client for the various VeriMods.
